Vet Surgery

Our skilled veterinarians perform a wide range of surgical procedures. This includes routine surgeries, such as spaying and neutering, and dental surgery. We also carry out complex vet surgery such as reproductive surgery, soft tissue surgery, tumour removals, orthopaedic and reconstructive surgery. We know that surgery can be a stressful time for your pet and you. So, to help minimise this, we’ll provide advice and guidelines for pre-and post-op care. And we’ll keep you fully informed throughout the process. During and after the vet surgery, we provide pain relief, pain management and other aftercare services to all our patients.

Spaying Females

Spaying, or desexing female animals, can help minimise diseases of the reproductive organs and the mammary glands. In addition, spaying prevents unwanted pregnancies. It also takes away the issue of the mess which occurs when females come “on heat”.

Neutering Males

Neutering, or desexing of males, requires general anaesthesia. The benefits of neutering are they become less likely to roam, fight with other males, or urine-mark their territory, plus they are less likely to have prostatic disease later on. Testicular cancer is also prevented.

Mandatory Microchipping

Microchipping is compulsory in New South Wales and is the best way to find your pet if they get lost or stolen. We recommend that you organise microchipping as soon as you get your new pet or at the same time as having them desexed.

Dental Vet Surgery

Oral health is vital to your pet’s well-being. Consequently, we recommend regular check-ups to keep your pet’s teeth and gums in perfect order.

Emergency Vet Surgery

If your pet is injured or ill, they may require emergency care. Outside of normal business hours, Moonee Beach Veterinary Surgery is partnered with the Coffs Combined Veterinary After Hours Service. This partnership gives your pet the opportunity to receive 24-hour emergency veterinary treatment.
